NBTA Scholorship Information

Education and professional development are two of the foremost goals of the Mid-South Area Business Travel Association. We support the pursuit of professional certification through the National Business Travel Association’s programs and educational offerings. Due to our affiliation with NBTA, the NBTA Foundation and the Chapter President’s Council we are able to offer educational scholarships for a variety of programs.

• The NBTA Foundation offers several educational scholarship opportunities (this should be a link to http://www.nbtafoundation.org/Scholarships/default.htm). These scholarships include Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) scholarship grants, the Independent Studies Program scholarships and scholarships to the GLP program at the Wharton School of Business.
• Chapter President’s Council scholarship grants are awarded to qualified individuals to pursue involvement in the education programs or membership within the National Business Travel Association.

For 2009, one of the goals of the Mid-South Area Business Travel Association Board is to establish a scholarship grant specifically for our membership. This scholarship will allow either an allied or direct member to apply the grant towards participation in any travel related or professional development course approved by the Mid-South Area Business Travel Association Board of Directors (i.e. NBTA Foundation trainings, membership in NBTA, travel to the annual convention, convention registration, or certification in meeting planning.

Another function of the scholarship committee is to facilitate the
annual allied and direct member of the year awards. Any member of the Mid-South Area Business Travel Association can nominate a candidate for these awards. Along with the award, members of the year each receive a $300 scholarship grant that can be used towards any NBTA sanctioned event.
